Tool
To start a project is a possibility of everyone: choreographers, dancers, producers, composers, visual artists and so on. The responsibilities and decisions specific to this role are not attached to an artistic discipline but to the process of bringing an idea into reality. It is also a practice and has much more in common with other professional areas outside the artistic field, although we, as artists, like to think otherwise. It has to do with the capacity to envision a process and to implement it, to know how to continue and who to ask for help. It has also to do with management and communication skills. It is common that the administrative and artistic responsibility of a project cannot be separated, wo how to deal with this?
As a project initiator…
… what am I responsible of?
… what am I not responsible of?
… what can I delegate? How?
… how can I create clarity for the process?
… with whom do I want to work? Why?
… do I know what the other participants need?
… what do I need?
… what do I have? What am I missing?
… what type of internal organization do I want for the process?
… how do I prepare for the process?
