a way to find your way through this site

NOTE: On this website we use these perspectives as labels to offer you a roadmap to navigate the different tools we have collected, in case you feel lost. But feel free to find your own connections.

The artistic work develops within a complex grid of different life aspects coming together, some are directly related to our actions and decisions, others might have absolutely nothing to do with us. We work hard to develop our awareness, though, the more aware we are, the more we sense and learn, and the more we learn, the more we just don´t know what to do next, what to think, where to keep on going. This complexity might turn so overwhelming that it blocks the inspiration and inner fire.

What is it?

The Perspectives Tool help you ask precise questions surrounding your artistic process. It can support the decision-making and the development of new ideas. It includes 11 perspectives from which you can approach your specific situation.

Of course, they overlap and there are way more perspectives to consider, this are just a starting points.

For whom can it be helpful?

This tool is for those who are working on sharpening their knowledge about artistic processes, from a holistic point of view. If everything is related to everything, where to continue? To develop the perception includes also developing the ability to bring focus when needed, and to approach a situation from different angles.

It can also help artists dealing with difficult decisions or blockades on their way.

How to use it

Choose a situation you are dealing with and write it down.

Choose a process.

A – round traces

B – deep traces

A.      ROUND TRACES

–         Choose a perspective.

–         Write down at least 5 questions you would ask, when approaching with the situation through this specific point of view. Just start asking something, questions like to follow each other.

–         Go through the questions and choose the ones that interest you the most. Dedicate some time to go deeper. Maybe write further questions or elaborate the answers you find intuitively.

–         Find specific actions and/or decisions that you can take to deal with the situation, according to this specific perspective.

à If you can´t find specific actions or decisions to make, maybe someone can help you? Do you know what type of knowledge or experience a person needs to help you out? Do you know a person like this?

If yes, go contact them!

If no, contact us, we might know someone who knows someone.

–         Choose another perspective

B.      DEEP TRACES (PLATZHALTER)

– Choose another perspective

From here on you have two options:

  1. Choose another perspective.

Go through the first 10 questions you wrote in point 1, and answer them considering the new perspective.

  1. Choose another perspective and

Optional: If you feel confident about your perception of the situation from one perspective, try to overlap it with another one. Are your decisions and actions congruent?

This process might bring up some conflicts of interests. This is great, then you know where you can work on to find congruency, if that is what you want. If a difference of conclusions turns out to be not conflictive, that is also great. The most important this is to help you grasp a situation you are dealing with right now.
